Through Adopt a mission, the Nancy Tweddle Foundation assist with the rehabilitation process of addicts living in disadvantaged South African communities, enabling them to break free from the cycle of poverty and crime, and allowing them to make a meaningful contribution to society and the economy.
Adopt a mission provides guidance and support to addicts in the local community too through the ‘Transformation’ and ‘Work for Food’ Programmes. The Transformation initiative aims to break the system of crime and poverty in Brooklyn by assisting with the rehabilitation of drug and alcohol abusers.
The Work for Food Programme aims to establish good working habits through the promotion of teamwork, punctuality, and respect. The project looks to re-integrate the homeless and unemployed back into the working world and provide a way to develop skills that would be useful in a work environment.
