The Nancy Tweddle Foundation is very pleased to support the ‘Adopt-a-mission’ initiative in South Africa, a volunteer lead charity that aims to provide support to disadvantaged communities.
Adopt-a-mission aims to break the cycle of crime and poverty in the Rugby/Brooklyn area of the Western Cape by providing support and food to the people that need it most. The fantastic initiative also provides transport for local children so that they can participate in education programmes as well as working with local businesses to facilitate employment.
Also providing guidance and support to addicts in the local community, Adopt-a-mission also assistwith the rehabilitation of drug and alcohol addicts; and promote teamwork, respect and punctuality to establish good working habits. The initiative looks to re-integrate the homeless and unemployed back into the world of work and provide a way to develop skills that would be useful in a working environment.
